We Train ~ We Care

A Trusted Institution for Practical, Life-Changing Education

Since 2004, KIBCo has helped learners gain practical skills, professional confidence, and meaningful career pathways. Our programs combine hands-on training, qualified instruction, flexible learning options, and a supportive environment that helps students feel guided from inquiry to graduation. KIBCo Profile The Kenya Institute of Business and Counselling Studies (KIBCo) is a Kenyan TVET institution focused on career development, professional training, counselling, education, research, and life-skills empowerment. The Institute offers programmes in counselling psychology, social work and community development, business and accountancy, ICT, hospitality, languages, and other technical and professional areas. KIBCo combines academic and competency-based training with practical skills development, counselling services, professional development, and community-oriented interventions. Its stated vision is to become a leading institution in career development and life-skills empowerment, with emphasis on personal integrity and positive social change. The Institute has therefore positioned itself as a multidisciplinary institution linking vocational education, counselling and psychosocial services, employability, entrepreneurship, and community transformation. Registration and Accreditation KIBCo is registered and licensed as a private Technical and Vocational College by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA), with the Nairobi institution listed under registration number TVETA/PRIVATE/TVC/0031/2016 and the Thika campus under TVETA/PRIVATE/TVC/0088/2020. KIBCo is also accredited by the TVET Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC) as a registered assessment centre, including centres in Nairobi and Thika. Its assessment bodies include TVET CDACC, NITA and Global Centre for Credentialing and Certification (GCCC). History and Partnerships KIBCo was established in January 2004, initially operating as Maranatha College of Professional Studies (MCPS), before developing into the Kenya Institute of Business and Counselling Studies. In 2010, the institution became formally recognized as a TVET training institution under the Ministry of Education, marking an important stage in its institutional development. Over the years, KIBCo has developed relationships with professional and regulatory bodies including NITA, KCPA, Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme and NASCOP, enabling it to expand its professional and specialized training portfolio. Its relationship with the Colombo Plan is particularly significant in addiction-professional development, including training associated with the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC), Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC), and International Certified Addiction Professional (ICAP) pathways. With more than two decades of development since 2004, KIBCo has evolved from a professional college into a multidisciplinary TVET and professional-development institution serving learners, practitioners, organizations, and communities in Kenya.
